8 Home Remidies To Get Rid of Fleas on Dogs  

1. Essential Oils for Eliminating Fleas

By using essential oils, the parasites of dogs can easily die while healing any scratches that may be on your dog’s body.  The easiest way is to store the oil in a bottle and use a spray.

2. Bath with Lemon Water

When you observe parasites in your dog’s body, you should regularly try to bathe the dog. First, mix half a cup of lemon juice in a bucket of water. After mixing, you can heat the water if desired. Heat a little so the dog can withstand it. After heating, you bathe the dog with lemon water. You can use soap shampoo.

3. Foam Bath

Shampoo soap can kill fleas. Make sure to choose a shampoo or soap that does not contain any harmful chemicals. Put the shampoo in the bath prior to running water, when the water runs over the shampoo, it will create a foam.  Rub this foam into your dog’s fur and let sit for a couple of minutes.  The foam shampoo should kill any fleas.

4. Use Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is used as a medicine for many diseases. If your dog has a scratch, coconut oil can be the most beneficial treatment. And, coconut oil helps reduce a dog’s body odor. Coconut oil can destroy parasites. Massage the dog’s entire body with coconut oil in 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil daily to use it help control and kill fleas.

5. Vinegar Drink

Use vinegar in your dog’s diet by putting a tablespoon of vinegar in your dog’s drinking water.

6. Rosemary

This herbal ingredient is a natural way to prevent rashes on dogs. When rubbed on scratches or hot spots, it will not only help the healing but will rid the area of fleas. 

7. Natural Flea Spray

Typically, we purchase flea spray at the store.  These sprays contain harsh chemicals.   You can make a natural spray from some common elements in your home. 

Mix the following ingredients in a spray bottle:

  • 1 liter of water
  •  one cup of lemon juice
  •  2 cups of vinegar

Spray the dog’s body well. After spraying, dry the dog.

8. Use Salt

Before you bathe your dog, massage the dog’s body with a mixture of salt and water. This will destroy the fleas. But, do not use too much salt or scrub too hard as that will create scratches in your dog’s skin.
